This new middle school is one of three major commissions completed by KCBA for the Daniel Boone Area School District. The 205,000 sq. ft. two-story school houses 1,100 students in grades 6-8. Built on a sloping site, both floors of the new school have access to grade. A highlight of the project is its facilitation of community use – expanding upon a strong relationship between the school and local community, recreational facilities and sports fields are prominently and accessibly located. The building features expansive windows and natural light including in its primary focal point – a bright and airy two-story library.
