Upper Gwynedd Township Municipal Building
North Wales, PA
Renovation/Expansion
KCBA provided architectural services to renovate and expand this 1960’s-era municipal building. The expansion consists of two major additions – a new township administration facility and new police facility. Each placed on opposite sides of the original building, the additions were designed to meld with the existing architectural character and materials. The new administration facility includes township office functions, zoning and building inspection, and tax collection. The new police station includes a processing area, holding cells, squad rooms, interrogation rooms, offices, and support spaces. In addition to upgrades to meet modern codes and standards, common spaces in the original facility were renovated to seamlessly function in the new building configuration. Located next to a park, the project also entailed extensive landscaping to complement the existing environment.
