This new school building for children in pre-school through 8^th grade was designed and constructed via a collaborative approach with heavy involvement and support from the engaged school community. In order to maximize the budget while still reflecting best practices for childhood development, the new facility is organized as two distinct schools with pre-school and elementary grades on one side and a middle school on the other separated by a shared large auditorium, outdoor courtyard, and administrative offices. Supporting this theme, the elementary school features a multi-purpose room for recreation and athletic events while the middle school houses a competition gymnasium. Exterior site features include a running track and soccer fields which were designed to accommodate heavy weekend use by the regional community.
