The project consists of construction of a new elementary school including all associated site development work including the following:

 

All sitework including a new parking lot, temporary fencing and site controls, E&S, site demolition, site grading, concrete curbs, and sidewalks. Permanent fencing, dumpster enclosure, site utilities and landscaping. Construction of new building including concrete, masonry and steel work, waterproofing and air barriers panels, exterior framing, composite wood panels, and metal wall panels. Glu-lam beams, wood blockings, millwork, educational casework, and display cases. Roofing, roof screens and hatches. All doors, frames and hardware, aluminum entrances and storefront, aluminum windows, hollow metal windows, curtain wall, borrowed lites, all glass and glazing, interior drywall partitions, ceilings, wall and floor finishes, painting, all division 10 items, food service equipment, athletic equipment, bleachers, stage rigging and curtains, visual displays, window treatments and elevators are included.

 

Fire Protection including a complete automatic wet sprinkler system throughout the building with a separate fire pump building feed and an underground water storage tank.

 

The plumbing shall provide storm, sanitary, vent, domestic cold, hot, and hot water return piping throughout the building.  New natural gas line shall serve the mechanical room equipment as well as the kitchen.  The domestic water system shall have a water softener and booster pump integral to the system.

 

The HVAC system shall provide a 4-pipe system to rooftop mounted unit that provide ventilation and dehumidification to the building.  The heating plant shall contain natural gas condensing boilers using primary pumps to distribute hot water throughout the building.  The Chilled water plant shall contain an exterior mounted air-cooled chiller using primary pumps to distribute a propylene glycol solution throughout the building.  A VAV system shall be used to distribute air flow around the building.  The controls shall use a DDC system to monitor and control the mechanical equipment.

 

Electrical work including primary conduits for electrical service.  Transformer vault with conduit and electrical feeders to the main distribution panel. The installation of the communications conduits.   The 277/480 Volt 2000 Amp main distribution panel shall provide breakers for remote panelboards to service power throughout the building and site.  A 200kw 250kva emergency generator on a concrete foundation. Transfer switches will provide for emergency power throughout the building.

LED site poles will be positioned around the parent/staff parking and the bus parking loop.  The elementary will have LED lighting throughout with recessed fixtures, linear hung fixtures, and accent fixtures.  Dimming controls will be used in classrooms, office rooms, and with additional learning areas.

 

Complete fire alarm system including all devices, conduit, boxes, cable, annunciator and main panels.

 

Main distribution frame (MDF) will be centrally positioned to allow proper distribution of network cabling.  Intermediate frame (IDF) will be located with each education wing for evenly distributed cabling to data locations.

 

Security shall be utilized with a secure entrance with intercom connections to the office.  The exterior doors will have card access with door contacts.  Exterior and interior camera system will be provided.  Motion sensors will be located throughout the elementary.
