Ephrata Borough Hall

Ephrata, PA

New Construction

Located on the site of a former lumberyard in the center of Ephrata Borough, this new 25,000 sq. ft. municipal building was part of an urban renewal initiative. Encompassing borough administration and police facilities, the building plan was organized to achieve optimal circulation and spatial functionality for the public, employees, and secure police operations. There were a number of challenges associated with the layout of the site and building footprint as the site was small, steeply sloped, and contained a stream on one side. The two-story brick building with sloped roofs was designed to match the existing downtown architectural character of the borough.
