Knoxville College is a private, liberal arts institution located in the City of Knoxville, TN. Founded in 1875 to provide education to the descendants of freed slaves, the college now provides a challenging and stimulating educational experience to students of diverse backgrounds and cultures. In search of a signature new element to reinvigorate the campus, the college commissioned KCBA to complete a programming study and master plan for a new multi-functional campus pavilion. Containing a full array of academic, student support, administrative, and operational spaces, the new Leadership and Diversity Pavilion is to be located at a prominent campus gateway next to two historic structures. The new three-story facility will feature a variety of environments for student engagement and collaboration, establish a new visual identity for the college, and serve as a vibrant new hub of campus activity.
