Lower Saucon Fire Rescue – Leithsville Fire Station
Hellertown, PA
Building Reconstruction after Major Fire
This project entailed the redesign and reconstruction of a fire station that was destroyed by a tragic fire caused by a vehicular accident. Due to zoning restrictions, the new building matches the general footprint of the prior structure but is reconfigured for better circulation and operability. The program includes four apparatus bays, a day room, office, gear room, gear wash room, and workshop. Expediency and economy were key factors in the project – the building was designed very cost-effectively utilizing simple and durable materials such as insulated concrete forms, stucco, and brick accents.
