KCBA designed this new charter high school for 400 students on a former commercial site. Located directly adjacent to an active rail line and I-95, the building was carefully oriented to shield classrooms and educational spaces from roadway noise and visual distractions. The new facility presents a modern image through the use of stucco, glass, and metal panel materials that reflect Tacony Academy’s progressive mission of promoting learning through the art of invention. The program features a full complement of classrooms and labs as well as a combination cafeteria/auditorium, music rooms, library, and gymnasium.
