Pfaff Elementary School
Quakertown Community School District
Quakertown, PA
New Construction
KCBA planned and designed this new 85,000 sq. ft., K-5 school for the Quakertown Community School District to replace an outdated facility. Per the district’s request, the design solution paid visual homage to the previous school as the community had an affinity for many of its distinctive architectural elements. Taking into account the district’s growth projections, the 500-student facility was designed with a core for 750 to enable future expansion. The building layout features a grade-specific pod formation to facilitate collaboration among each level. A blend of brick, block, and metal materials contributes to a durable, modern, and inviting presence for the building.
