This currently underway new K-5 school to serve 750 students is being developed on a vacant parcel across from Bellefonte Area High School. The new facility is being configured to optimize long-term functionality of the property and take advantage of beautiful views of the surrounding rolling hills. Special programmatic features include the location of the library/media center directly off the main entrance to reflect the district’s emphasis on early childhood literacy, a learning stair and indoor/outdoor collaboration zone directly linked to a secure courtyard, dedicated music and art rooms, and a STEM lab. Two classroom wings are organized by grade and linked via a “main street” corridor connecting all public and specialty spaces.
