The KCBA team is excited to participate in the 2021 Fall Conference of the Pennsylvania Coalition of Affiliated Healthcare & Living Communities in Harrisburg, September 13-15th. This annual event includes programs, education, and networking in support of the group’s mission to advance excellence and improve quality of care in Pennsylvania’s healthcare and living communities. Conference attendees can engage with KCBA in two forums: first during a breakout session presentation at 10:45 AM on Tuesday September 14th then as a participant in the exhibit hall on the 15th.
The one-hour session on Tuesday is titled, “Do we need healthier buildings? What are they and how do we get there?” It will be led by KCBA’s senior living studio director, Walt Zapor, along with Nicholas Kaintz of Snyder Hoffman Associates, a mechanical/electrical/plumbing engineering firm and longtime KCBA consulting partner. The program will focus on evolving strategies in infection prevention driven by the Covid-19 pandemic along with a review of general standards and emerging best practices for durable, maintainable, sustainable, and environmentally healthy building solutions.
