Stacy Thomas, AIA, LEED AP and Emily Liuzza, RA proudly represented KCBA at the dedication and ribbon cutting of the new PA German Cultural Heritage Center at Kutztown University on September 29th.
KCBA was honored to partner with Kutztown University and the KU Foundation to serve as the architect for the project. The scope encompassed a wholesale reimagining and renovation of a10,000 SF former academic building to serve as the new headquarters for this museum and research center dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Pennsylvania German heritage. The remade building is named in honor of DeLight E. Breidegam, the founder of East Penn Manufacturing Co., and houses the center’s vast material collections as well as an array of exhibit, research, meeting, and office space.
The KCBA group was joined by a contingent of stakeholders and dignitaries from the Kutztown University Foundation, Kutztown University, Breidegam family, PA State System of Higher Education, Commonwealth of PA, the German Consul General of New York, and many others.
KCBA is fortunate to also be serving as the architect for another active project for the Kutztown University Foundation. The new Wells-Rapp Center for Mallet Percussion Research housing musical performance, rehearsal, educational, and support space is currently under construction and slated to open later this fall.
