This project encompassed a sweeping renovation and expansion of this elementary school to enhance security, increase student capacity, add new program areas, modernize systems, and improve site circulation. In addition to classrooms, the 34,000 sq. ft. three-story addition includes a combined gym/auditorium with stage, art suite, and series of small group instruction areas. Previously housing grades 1-5, the new configuration allowed the introduction of kindergarten. Significant site reconfiguration resulted in new dedicated loops for car and bus traffic as well as upgraded stormwater management infrastructure. The aesthetic of the addition was carefully developed to complement the character of the existing building and surrounding residential neighborhood.
