Renovation and Modernization of a Former High School Building

This project featured the conversion of Downingtown Area School District’s original high school – a 120,000 sq. ft., 1930’s stone building that had been vacant for long periods – into a new Science Technology Engineering Mathematics facility. Highlights of the project include new efficient building systems, a series of state-of-the-art science labs, a college-style dining suite, and a sprawling two-story collaborative learning commons that is ringed on the 2nd floor by glass-encased group instruction rooms. The new STEM Academy is one of many projects including two new elementary schools completed by KCBA for the Downingtown Area School District.
