Renovation and New Construction; Major Component of New Secondary Campus

The new Pennridge High School was one component of a sweeping facilities initiative – the transformation of three outdated school buildings on a 147-acre site into a new secondary campus for the Pennridge School District. KCBA master planned a revamped site layout that featured the renovation of a 195,000 sq. ft. building into a new 9th grade center plus a 285,000 sq. ft. expansion to make up the new high school, conversion of the second building into a new middle school, and demolition of the third building. The new consolidated high school features a full array of academic, arts, athletic, and administrative spaces in a bright interior environment with abundant views to the surrounding countryside. Designed to connect strongly with the surrounding community, the building is zoned for secure and efficient after-hours use of the gym, natatorium, and auditorium. The new high school steps down the sloping site and provides a strong public presence through an artful mix of glass and masonry materials.
