KCBA partnered with Avon Grove School District in a total reconfiguration of their elementary schools which entailed the closure of two schools and development of a new central K-6 campus. As one component of the new campus, KCBA designed this new facility as an addition onto Penn London Elementary School to house all kindergarteners in the district. The new K Center maintains a separate identity from the attached school but shares common facilities such as the administration and nursing suites. The layout accommodates a full range of kindergarten activities with classrooms arranged around a central large group instruction and activity area. Plentiful natural light, a number of playful and colorful elements, and a direct connection to a dedicated outdoor playground contribute to a bright and lively environment for young learners.
